STUPEFY!

For the span of 3 months, I have been developing the story and characters for an animated series titled "STUPEFY!" I was heavily inspired by both western animation and anime, however the main inspirations were Cowboy Bebop and Mob Psycho.

It follows an African American teenager named Calvera Nation, who had been isolated his whole childhood. After his mother's passing, he learns the truth of his family, himself and the existence of psychics. Powerful forces wish to siphon his dormant power. He is now under the protection of the Children of The Sun, a secret organization who shelters and trains psychics. Calvera will now have to tackle sinister and violent beings and what he wants his destiny to be.

The show will be a comedy but will explore dark themes. This in of itself is a reflection of the show's main message; Life is worth living despite it's flaws. There is always a path to peace that doesn't involve the harm of others or yourself and there can always be someone there to help you with what you are going through. It may sound simple at first but I believe it will shine in its execution.
